Mr. Vijay Khanna, our Chairman, is one of the most distinguished personalities of the Coke sector in India. He has over forty years of experience in the coke industry, and has the ability to buy sick units and turn them around into profitable enterprises.

Mr. Khanna has monitored and guided the commissioning of similar plants in the country, with Carbon Edge being the only byproduct coke producing plant in western India.

CEIL is a novel project; it has been unheard of that such a small and simplified version of a byproduct plant could be setup and operated profitably at such a minimal investment.

He pioneered the innovative production techniques in beehive coke ovens. He was one of the first to experiment with:

• Mechanization in beehive coke units that were mostly labor intensive in nature.
• Machines like charging car help charge the raw material mechanically into the ovens and avoid excessive use of labor.
• One time charge of coal into the oven to avoid wastage and excess burning of coal and formation of coke in layers and helped improve quality over the long run.
• Pusher car to help push the coke or finished product out from the ovens once the production cycle is over.
